Curve Tracing is used to verify and confirm electrical failures by identifying abnormal current-voltage (IV) characteristics at the device function pins. A curve tracer is used with two probes, one for each of the nodes that define the electrical path being characterized. Open connections,short circuits and other DC characteristics are investigated by comparison with a known good device.
